(Small group Limited to 5 places per class.)
This 6-week course will take you through all the key stages of wheel-thrown pottery.
From wedging to centring and plenty of time to practice throwing, the course also covers turning and finishing the thrown forms you create and joining additions such as handles.
We will also cover some simple decorating techniques with slip before we fire the pots.
Over the 6 weeks, you will aim to create various forms, from mugs to bowls and jugs, giving you a feel for the material. You will have a nice selection of finished glazed pieces to take away with you at the end.
All materials are provided, which include 1 bag of clay and 1 small bisque firing and glaze firing, plus decorating and glaze materials.
Additional clay and firings can be purchased at extra cost if required.
Note this is for beginners and improvers; I will offer my knowledge regarding pottery and all the tips I have learned during my 20yrs plus experience. I look forward to welcoming you into my peaceful, creative space to enjoy learning about such a fantastic material whilst gaining a level of concentration and relaxation through the focus required for this wonderful craft.
